Kasson Church of Christ livestreaming day of prayer events Saturday

Saturday, Oct. 12, marks the Day of Atonement. A million women, plus, plus men and children will gather in Washington DC that day to pray for America.
Kasson Church of Christ will be open from noon until 4 p.m. on Saturday for prayer for the country and the children’s future as well as livestreaming the event from the nation’s capital.

K-M Lions sponsor White Cane Day

Kasson-Mantorville’s Lions Club will be having a “White Cane Day” from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 19, at the HyVee store in Kasson.
The purpose of Lion White Cane Day is to raise money for the Lions Vision Foundation Sight Program as well as the Minnesota Eye Bank. Money raised is used to help those with sight problems.

It’s time to sign-up for Haunted Hustle

There is still time to register online for the 6th annual Haunted Hustle in Mantorville.
The date for this year’s Haunted Hustle 5k and one-mile Family Fun Run is Saturday, Oct. 26.  Online registration is available through Oct. 18.
Haunted Hustle is a fun, friendly, family event sponsored by Dodge Refreshed. It gives an early morning start to activities at the Mantorville Fall Festival which continues throughout the day.

Motorcycle, SUV crash sends Kasson man to hospital

A Kasson man was transported to Saint Marys Hospital Monday night with life-threatening injuries following a crash on Highway 14 between Kasson and Byron. The accident occurred at about 8:20 p.m.

Amy Petersen named first K-M girls wrestling coach

When Amy Petersen’s now 26-year-old son Matthew came home with a flier for Byron youth wrestling, she was convinced to sign him up.
“We gave it a try and he kind of fell in love with the sport,” Petersen said.
Then, his younger brothers followed in his steps.
“Then we all fell in love with the sport and have been part of it for 20 years,” Petersen said.
