Myles Daniel Scott Stucky passed away in Blooming Prairie on July 18, 2015, at seven weeks and six  days old. Myles was the son of Cory Stucky and Amy Solland. This precious little man was too eager to meet Mommy and Daddy being born five weeks premature. He loved to be snuggled close as well as falling asleep with a full belly of milk, floating in the backyard pool with Mommy and Daddy.

Paul Jeffery Polen, husband of Janell Trom Polen, passed away May 15, 2015, at 12:30 p.m.

Clarks Grove Golf Course isn’t your typical golf course. 
You might notice this by the moneybox on the front door to the club house, asking you to drop in $10 if you want to golf and no one is in the club house. Or you might notice the foot golf course parallel to the golf course. 

While Amy Roggenbuck may be wearing many hats, she will always be focusing on prevention.
“Our overall goal is to try to have people reach their full potential health-wise and keep them there,” she said. “If we have a prevention focus as a larger part of our work, this may create a higher quality of life for people to live longer lives free of preventable disease, disability, injury or premature death.”

Once again, local and area bikers teamed up to show their support for a very worthy cause: the Steele County Toys for Tots program. 

It was a busy evening at the West Concord Historical Society Friday night as McKenna Rubin was crowned Miss West Concord 2015, Marvin Hanson announced as Citizen of the Year and Al and Rita Gilbert as recipients of the Mayor’s Key to the City Award.
Hayden Rubin was named the first runner-up in the Miss West Concord Pageant and Claudia Hodgman was named Miss Congeniality.

Despite some humid weather and late-night storms, this year’s Steele County Relay for Life was a success yet again. Thus far, the event has raised more than $101,000 for the American Cancer Society. 

All the bituminous has been removed on the Blooming Prairie Main Street reconstruction, a joint project between the City of Blooming Prairie and Steele County. Concrete removal was planned to begin this week.
Recent work has involved connecting the water main and sanitary sewer in the center of Highway 218.
