Young named 2026 Festival in the Park Grand Marshal
If you have ever been to any events in Kasson, or have been involved with any nonprofits in the area, there is a good chance you have met Tanya Young.
And this year, she is being recognized as the 2026 Kasson Festival in the Park Grand Marshal.
Over the years, Young has been involved with a number of different organizations in Kasson.
With her church St. John’s Lutheran, she serves in a number of capacities since becoming a member in 2014, including as a wedding coordinator.
Since 2017, she has been the program coordinator for Ready Set Learn of Dodge County, an organization that provides school supplies and backpacks to children county-wide.
Starting in 2019, Young has been involved with the Dodge County Salvation Army where she has served in various roles including local volunteer representative for Dodge County, bell ringer coordinator and Dodge County Emergency Disaster Services Coordinator.
She also has served as a coach for Girls on the Run & Heart & Sole, since 2023, and has been an advocate for the American Cancer Society and Relay for Life in Dodge County.
As if that wasn’t enough, Young also is an active member with the Kasson Chamber of Commerce, helping with events throughout the year.
In 2024, she was named Kasson Chamber of Commerce Business Person of the Year.
Young said having a community that supports one and other is important.
“Kasson to me is a small knit community, with a bunch of generous hearts,” she said. “People come together to support each other in joys and needs. I love living, working, and having my faith family all in the same community. Shopping local is very important to my family as well.”
Young will lead this year’s parade which is set for 1:30 p.m. on Aug. 9.
