Then and Now

The Kasson Mantorville Telephone Company announced that starting in July 1969, telephone customers in Mantorville and Rock Dell could make direct dial phone calls across the United States and Canada. Kasson customers would be made available in the following months. It would take much less time compared to an operator assist call. It also listed the steps used to make these calls. Of course this was many years before anyone had heard of cell phones and how we can make those direct dial calls now! This ad is from the 1969 DCI newspaper archives.
