Byron boys soccer wins senior night game

Last Tuesday, Byron hosted Cannon Falls winning 3-0.
 Ben Zimmerman started the scoring and  Brady Boyken added a goal of his own early on. Josh Gibson added a goal  scoring off a header from a corner kick delivered by Ryan Hartman with 11 minutes left in the half. 
Byron goalkeeper Jackson Ihrke had a shutout stopping two goals in the game.

Byron ties with Dover- Eyota

In addition to beating Kasson-Mantorville last week, the Byron girls soccer team tied with Dover-Eyota 1-1.
Kylie Johnson had a goal in the game while Eden Hemminger had the only assist in the game. Goalkeeper Cadence Loughran had three saves in the matchup.

Hayfield volleyball drops homecoming game in fifth set

The Hayfield volleyball team struggled last week, losing twice.
In its matchup against Kenyon-Wanamingo, Head Coach Samantha Thurman said her team “started off strong,” and “went point for point.”
“We had a few too many unforced errors that ultimately made the difference tonight,” Thurman said after the game.

Triton/K-W/Hayfield falls short against Loyola

The Triton/K-W/Hayfield girls soccer team  hosted Mankato Loyola last week, losing 1-0, with the only goal of the game coming in the second half.
Tonight we lost 1-0 at home vs. Loyola. Triton’s Goalkeeper Alyssa Knudson had  12 saves in the loss.
Triton also fell short against Stewartville last week losing 2-1.

Byron sweeps Medford

The Byron girls volleyball team swept Medford on the road last week 3-0.
For Byron Ella Brennan had seven aces, and two blocks, Paige Crink had 20 kills, three aces, a dig and seven blocks, Ella Nelson had a kill, 10 aces, a dig, and nine blocks, Kaydence Fjerstad finished the game with a kill, five aces, five digs, and five blocks, and Addison Johnson had a kill, ace, dig, and 12 blocks in the game.

Hornets are back to flying around Chateau

Chateau Speedway hosted its final racing night of the season last Friday and brought back some familiar sounds with it.
The Hornets were out on the track along with the pure stocks, giving fans one last night of racing action before the track shuts down until next season.
With no races taking place from the usual classes, point totals from the season have been finalized.
