Two stories in this week’s DCI got me thinking about the state of the nation and how we react.
First was the announcement that absentee voting is now open for the Presidential Primary in Minnesota coming up on Tuesday, March 5. For decades Minnesotans made their preferences known for president by attending caucuses even while most states were voicing their opinions in primary elections.

West Concord is the latest community to experience serious difficulties in keeping ambulance services going because of a lack of volunteers.

   Just as the Dodge County Independent maintained in December when it outlined why the Dodge Center Messenger is not a legal newspaper, the city attorney for Dodge Center has come to the same conclusion.

The transgender movement is pressing its agenda everywhere. Most publicly, activist teachers are using classrooms to propagandize on its behalf and activist health professionals are promoting the mutilation of children under the euphemistic banner of “gender-affirming care.”

Hard to believe but Christmas Day is already past and it is now time to look ahead to the New Year.
One thing about this year’s Christmas; it was definitely the strangest weather I can remember. Fifty-two degrees and rain on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day in Minnesota is pretty unbelievable.
