Roberta Meddleton, 95, Rochester

Roberta Burgess Meddle-ton, 95, of Kasson went to be with her Lord on Friday, March 24, 2017 while a patient at Mayo Clinic Hospital-Roch-ester, St. Marys Campus.
Roberta was born on Sept. 4, 1921 in Mantorville, Minn. She was the second oldestof 11 children. She married Wilford Burgess on Jan. 3, 1940. They had six children. She was very involved in op-erating the family farm and raising her family.

David Lien, 77, Kasson

David “Dave” Arthur Lien of Kasson, Minn., passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 19, 2017 at the age of 77.

An older couple stopped by the DCI last week, and, after more than a little prodding by his wife, the husband – let’s call him Ole; he wouldn’t give us his real name – was still too stoic to tell us about the big something that was clearly on his mind.
So the wife, Lena – don’t use her real name either - pushed him out of the way and took over.
“So Disney’s coming here,” she said.
“Excuse us?” we said.

Overcome with relief over spring break

They probably won’t go down as the most exciting or sexiest spring breaks for my college- aged children. But then again I tend to feel spring breaks are far over-rated any way.I am often amazed at how many parents of teenagers and even younger kids make a big splash about spring breaks and often try to outdo the next family with going somewhere exotic or halfway across the country.

K-M youth wrestlers advance to NYWA State tournment

The NYWA State tournament is the grand finale to youth folkstyle season.  26 KM youth wrestlers advanced out of Districts and competed in the NYWA Regional tournament this past weekend in Byron.

Merlin Players, under the direction of Julianna Skluzacek, are preforming Calendar Girls at the Paradise Performing Arts Center in Faribault. It tells the story of a group of woman who, in honor of friend’s late husband, pose nude for a calendar to raise money for charity. The play is a heartwarming take on friendship and hope in the face of loss.

David A. “Dave” Lien, 77, of Kasson passed away on Sunday, March 19, at Fairview Care Center, Dodge Center.  Arrangements are pending with Dibble Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Kasson.
