Gregory Edwin Cooper (Coop) died unexpectedly of natural causes on March 28, 2020 at his home in Dodge Center at the age of 63.

Has anyone else noticed how noisy Canadians are when they move through Kasson, or for that matter, other parts of Dodge County?
Yep, they’re rumbling through Kasson blaring their horns, causing gates to drop and lights to go off all around town.
And there are other Canadians that honk their horns as they pass over the county in throngs.

Dressed in their game day uniforms, each student-athlete on the K-M baseball team heard their walk-up song and walked up to the plate.
            The only problem is that plate was a dinner plate instead of home plate.
            K-M senior shortstop Easton Knoll said the team activity was a way to have a little fun even though they can’t be together.

Most student-athletes who are starting on varsity for the first time in their high school careers hope to have a good season, but few do as well as Triton junior Haeven Quimby who was recently named a Hiawatha Valley League All-Conference selection.
“Being named All-Conference is a big thing for me because it shows how much time and work I put into this sport and how much it means to me,” he said.

During these dark days, everyone could use a symbol of hope and solidarity in their lives and high schools across the nation, including Dodge County, are providing that by turning their stadium lights on at night. 
It’s all part of the Be The Light campaign, which spread on social media after John Millea from the Minnesota State High School League sent a tweet challenging schools to model what’s been done across the country.

Some choose the kitchen countertop; others go to the dining room table or desks in their room. Wherever it is students around Dodge County are finding new places to do their schoolwork as they acclimate to distance learning.

With more people working from home and students now involved in distance learning, it is only reasonable to assume that internet usage has increased.
That is true, said Mary Ehmke, president of KMTelecom, but the company is able to handle the increased traffic.
“We’re in good shape with network capacity,” she said.

Daryl Craig Peterson, age 62 of Austin, passed away Sunday, March 29, 2020, at his in Austin.
Daryl was born to Marion and Gladys (Seavey) Peterson on Feb. 5, 1958, at St. Olaf Hospital in Austin. He was baptized and confirmed at Red Oak Grove Lutheran Church in rural Austin.
