Troms file 2nd feedlot lawsuit

Dodge County farmers Lowell and Evelyn Trom have filed a second lawsuit in Dodge County District Court to vacate a conditional use permit for a hog feedlot in Westfield Township.
A Notice of Appeal was filed with the Dodge County District Court on Jan. 9 by James Peters, the attorney for the Troms. The Troms’ are seeking to have the court vacate a conditional use permit for a 2,400 head hog feedlot on a six-acre parcel owned by Nick Masching. The parcel is adjacent to the Trom farm.
They are asking the court to set aside the county’s decision to grant the conditional use permit because the decision was “unreasonable, arbitrary and capricious, and contrary to law,” according to the complaint.
