Triton FFA State Convention Success

On April 24 through the 26 Triton FFA attended the 87th annual Minnesota State convention. Our chapter had 28 students along with three chaperones attend. The students competed in various Career Development Events such as: Best informed greenhand, Creed speaking, Horse evaluation, Livestock evaluation, Extemp speaking, Dairy handling, Fish and wildlife, Dairy foods, Chorus, Band, Star in agribusiness, Star farmer, and State degree. All teams and individuals did very well.
In the creed speaking competition, Martha Moenning placed first winning the state. She will be competing at Nationals in Indianapolis this October. Samuel Moenning placed second overall in Extemp speaking. Samuel Moenning was also on the state officer nominating committee. Samuel helped interview each of the candidates that were running for state office and also was a big part of deciding who the next state officer team was going to be for 2016-2017. 
Two of the state degree students not only received their state degrees but also went above and beyond and put many hours of hard work into completing a star application. Jack Crowson was the Region VIII FFA Star in Agribusiness winning with his poultry operation and was also recognized on the state level as a region winner. Brianna Fitzgerald was the Region VIII FFA Star Farmer
