Triton approves classified contracts, levy

Triton’s school board on Monday approved the district’s tax levy and a contract with the classified staff.
The contract is effective for the 2025-2027 school years and includes custodians, administrative assistants, paraprofessionals and bus drivers.

Compensation for the 2025-2026 school year for Group A seasonal/temporary, unlicensed custodial maintenance will range from $14.50 to $16.92 an hour; for Group B, custodian through Class II license, educational paraprofessionals, from $15.28 to $20.51 an hour; for Group C, custodian Class I license, SACC paraprofessional, administrative assistant, health assistant, grounds/maintenance assistant, media assistant, educational professions who are highly qualified as required by federal E.S.E.A., from $15.51 to $20.79; and for Group D, lead administrative assistant, duplication specialist, transportation assistant, CE/ECFE administrative assistant, lead custodian and activities director administrative assistant, from $16.17 to $22.14 an hour.
For the 2026-2027 school year, Group A compensation ranges from $14.79 to $17.26 an hour; for Group B, $15.59 to $20.92 an hour; for Group C, from $15.82 to $21.20 an hour and for Group D, $16.49 to $22.59 an hour.
The contract also addresses other issues including duty hours, health insurance, vacations and holidays, and leaves of absence.
The board also approved a tax levy payable in 2026 that is 1.21 percent lower than the 2025 levy. That represents a dollar change of $42,334.26.
In another action, the board approved the election judges for the fall special election on Nov. 4. Head election judges are Marie Dodds, Tina Kozisek, and Charlott Wilhelm. Election judges are Donna Fitzgerald, Kathy Wilmes, Carol Johnson, Rex Edge and Merry Kruckeberg.
Voters can cast an absentee ballot from Friday, Sept. 19, to Monday, Nov. 3. Absentee voting for the Triton Capital Projects Levy will be at the Triton Public Schools District office during regular business hours when school is in session, 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
