Theodore Albert Singfiel, 88, Dodge CenterTheodore Albert Singfiel, 88, Dodge Center

Theodore Albert Singfiel, age 88, of Dodge Center passed away peacefully at Fairview Care Center on Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2016.
Theodore was born May 10, 1928 in Rochester, Minnesota, the son of Albert and Alva (Laabs) Singfiel.  Ted grew up on the family farm where they raised and showed pure breed Duroc hogs.  He attended the little country school (Fitch) down the road from the farm.  Ted married Harriet Olson on Nov. 3, 1951 in Arkansas and they farmed until 1968.  They moved to Mississippi for a couple of years and then to Kasson, where he owned and operated Ted’s Mobil Service until retirement in 1983.
Ted was in the Army 96 AAA from 1950-1953 and was stationed at Fort Richardson in Anchorage, Alaska where their first daughter, Beverly, was born.  He enjoyed traveling and visited all but a few states.  He made many trips to Branson, Missouri with Wymen  Jensen for the Veterans Day Reunion.  Ted loved his visits to Montana where daughter Bonnie and family lived where he found time for some hunting and fishing.  Farming was always a part of his life.  He spent many hours working on the farms of his children, which he loved to do.  Other activities he enjoyed were playing cards, horse shoes, pool, going to watch his son Dan at the stock car races and his favorite thing was just being Grandpa to many grandkids.
Survivors include his former wife Harriet; three daughters, Beverly (Arlin) Johnson of Kasson, Bonnie Longmire of Rochester, and Carol (John) Allen of Mantorville; three sons, Scott (Pam), Daniel (Robyn) both of Mantorville and John of Rochester.
Ted will be greatly missed by his 13 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren plus many nieces, nephews and friends.
Ted was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Marie, Sylvia and brother Edward.
The funeral service for Ted was held November 19 at the First Congregational Church, Mantorville, Minnesota with Pastor Brian Egelston officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials to Fairview Care Center, 702 10th Ave NW, Dodge Center, Minnesota   55927.  Dibble Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kasson, was in charge of arrangements.  Online condolences may be shared at www.dibblefuneralhome.com.
