Then and Now
In 1965 Kasson celebrated the 100th anniversary of the founding of the city. Cyrus McCormick sold reapers and the company was known as McCormick Harvesting Machine Company. In 1902 two harvesting companies merged to form the International Harvester Company. Brewer Implement was the oldest McCormick dealer in Kasson starting in 1868 with three Brewer family generations operating the implement business. It was sold in 1968 to Bishop and Wachholz. They moved the business from the site next to Mantorville Avenue to the present location and they operated it until 1997 when it was bought by the Minnesota Ag Group.
