Temporary transportation plan set for January

I wanted to share a brief update regarding transportation services for the month of January.
For this short period, I will be stepping in as the Interim Transportation Director while we transition to our new Director. This is a temporary plan for the month of January only, and we have a strong team in place to ensure routes, schedules, and communication continue as smoothly as possible.
Transportation holds a special place in my heart. My grandfather served as the Transportation Director in my hometown for more than 40 years, and I grew up seeing firsthand the pride, responsibility, and care that goes into safely transporting students each day. I also hold a bus license so I deeply respect the work our drivers and transportation staff do, especially during the winter months.
What this means for families:
You may continue to call the same transportation phone numbers you always have at 507-634-1177.
You may continue to email transportation@komets.k12.mn.us, messages sent there will be routed directly to me.
Routes, schedules, and expectations will remain the same unless you are contacted directly by the district.
Transitions sometimes take a little extra patience, and I truly appreciate your understanding during this short window. Please know that student safety, reliability, and clear communication remain our top priorities, and I will be closely involved in supporting transportation operations throughout January.
