Special coverage for a special season

My wife and I went to her cousin’s wedding in Green Bay this past weekend, and the first thing my brother-in-law asked me when he saw me was; how was the state wrestling tournament?
Last Thursday I had the chance to spend the day at the Xcel Energy Center to cover the Kasson-Mantorville wrestling team at the team state tournament.
Wrestling isn’t nearly as major of a sport as it is in Minnesota, and the midwest in general compared to the east coast where I was born and raised.
I had never covered a wrestling state tournament in general before last weekend, so naturally the Minnesota state tournament was much bigger and more intense than I could have ever imagined.
There was plenty of top tier wrestling on display at the wrestling tournament, and it was a great experience to cover my first tournament.
To celebrate the KoMets wrestling success at the state tournament we put together a special section dedicated to the team.
