Sandy Grossbach, 67, Mazeppa

Sandy M. Grossbach, 67, a longtime resident of Mazeppa, passed away at her home after a short battle with cancer, with her family by her side.
Sandy was born May 24, 1949, in North Dakota.  Her hometowns were Pisek and Grafton.  Sandy graduated from the Grafton High School in 1967.  She then attended Cosmetology school in Fargo, North Dakota.  
After beauty school, Sandy met David Grossbach, who was stateside at the time while in the Air Force.  They married on Aug. 7, 1971.  Sandy and David were married for 45 years.
In 1971, the Grossbach’s moved to Mazeppa and joined the family farm.  There, they raised four children:  Wendy, Jenni, Angie, and Jeff.
Sandy enjoyed her family most of all. She cherished her six grandchildren. She was an avid fan at all of their events. Sandy could often be picked out in a crowd cheering for everyone on the team.  
Sandy also enjoyed gardening, puzzles, feeding the birds and wildlife, cooking and baking. She loved Mazeppa Daze, especially the fireworks. Everyone was always welcome at her home.  
Sandy is survived by her husband, David, their four children; Wendy (Neal) Kyllo of Zumbrota, Jenni (Tim) Paulson of Mantorville, Angie Grossbach of Mazeppa, and Jeff (Ashley) Grossbach of Rochester; one sister, Judy (Lyle) Beiswenger of Grand Forks,North Dakota and six grandchildren; Tori, Brett, Tanner, Tyler, Riley and Brady.  
Sandy was preceded in death by her parents, William and Alice Schanlic, one brother, Maynard Schanlic, one sister, Colleen Prodzinski and one one brother-in-law, Frank Prodzinski.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, Nov. 10, from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at the Methodist Church in Mazeppa. A funeral service will be held on Friday, Nov. 11 at 4:30 p.m. at the Methodist Church in Mazeppa. There will be a visitation an hour before the service. All family and friends are invited to Leo’s Sports Bar in Mazeppa immediately following the service for a Celebration of Life in memory of Sandy.
In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer donations be made to the Cancer Society in memory of Sandy Grossbach.
