Notice of Public Hearing
A public hearing will begin at 5:30 PM, June 28, 2016, at the Dodge County Government Services Building, to receive comment on a proposal to repeal the current Dodge County Solid Waste Ordinance No. 1 and Solid Waste Ordinance No. 3 and replace it with Dodge County Solid Waste General Ordinance No. 1.
The Government Services Building is located at 721 Main Street North in Mantorville, MN 55955.
Summary: Proposed Dodge County Solid Waste General Ordinance No. 1 is an ordinance authorizing and providing for County solid waste management; establishing powers and duties; establishing standards and requirements for solid waste management by citizens and businesses including storage, collection, transportation, processing and disposal within the incorporated and unincorporated areas of Dodge County; requiring licenses for storage, collection, transportation, processing and disposal of solid waste in accordance with the Dodge County Solid Waste Management Plan; embodying and supplementing the minimum standards and requirements established by rules of the State of Minnesota; providing for enforcement of said requirements; imposing penalties for failure to comply with these provisions; requiring performance bonds and insurance; and promoting the health, safety, and welfare of the public pursuant to Minnesota Statutes, Chapters 115, 115A, 116, 375, 400 and Sections 145A.04, 145A.08, 561.01 and 609.74.
As part of the Public Hearing, the County Board would like to receive public comment regarding a potential ban on all open burning of garbage, including use of burn barrels, countywide.
