Delores Lynn Brown, 77, Woodstock, IL

Delores Lynn Brown 77 of Woodstock, Ill. passed away from Dementia and some other ailments on June 6th, 2023, in hospice at Crystal Pines Rehabilitation in Crystal Lake, IL. Delores Brown was born in St Paul and raised in Mantorville along with her seven siblings.
Delores was preceded in death by her husband Stanley Arthur Brown and her parents Doris and Donald Spilman as well as her siblings Jean Marie Spilman, Donald Kenneth Spilman, Betty Jane Spilman, Daniel George Spilman and Davey Harn Spilman.
Delores was survived by her sisters Donna Kaye Spilman and Doris Ann Spilman and her two children Natalie Elaine Brown and Dale Cameron Brown and her legacy being her four grandchildren Dale and Megan’s children Landon and Rylee Brown and Natalie’s children Joshua and Iztali Pena-Brown.
Delores attended South Central College- North Mankato before finding a home in the Chicagoland area where they were a member of the Hinsdale Seventh-Day Adventist church. She met her husband Stanley in the church and supported him in his goals as a pastor and they joined hands in marriage September 21st, 1980. She worked at the Hinsdale Hospital for 47 years, she was committed to the Adventist health system and was a familiar face around the hospital in many departments throughout her service there. She raised her children in the community of Elmhurst, Ill. where she enjoyed being a part of the community.
Delores was a pleasant and loving soul who was very involved in the Seventh Day Adventist church. She enjoyed music and the arts in general but specifically had a lot of creative talent in painting and had significant talent in playing piano and the organ, she had the ability to influence the people around her by just being herself. Her demeanor was sweet, cheery, and quite contagious, she was a giving person that really endeavored to support and listen to others, she often took long walks and loved to meet new people and share the love of God with others. Her spirit was a blessing to her immediate family and she made a positive difference in whomever she interacted with. Delores was a unique and loving selfless person that will be missed.
In 2020 Delores and her daughter Natalie moved to Woodstock, close by her son Dale in Harvard, where she finally passed; a Memorial Service will be held August 5th at 2108 Edgewood Dr., Woodstock, Ill. 60098 from 12:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and will be open to all relatives and friends that would like to gather to remember and join the family in some food and prayers as it will be informal assembly at a home there will children and snacks. Delores was cremated and will be joining her husband in the journey after this life. Her closest relatives would like to invite you to share any memories or condolences.
