K-M graduate is chosen as Minnesota Outstanding Agriculture Teacher of the Year

Jon Yusten never imagined after  more than three decades of teaching, that he would be selected as the Minnesota Association of Agriculture Educators’ (MAAE) Outstanding Agriculture Teacher of the Year. 
Yusten currently teaches seventh through 12th graders and 10 different classes in the Zumbrota-Mazeppa School District.. He was humbled to be selected as the Minnesota Outstanding Agriculture Teacher of the Year. 
“It is a pretty neat honor to be selected by your peers. When you have been teaching for over three decades, it is nice to be honored,” he said. “People should know that there are a lot of really hard-working ag teachers out there that do a lot of that extra work and extra-curricular hours outside of school.” 
Yusten, son of Don and Patsy Yusten, graduated from the Kasson-Mantorville School District in 1975. After graduation he decided to join the Air Force for four years and then attended California State Polytechnic University in Pomona to obtain a degree in agriculture education.
