A thank you to Mantorville for Zumbro River discussion
To the Editor:
We would like to express our appreciation to the City of Mantorville – the Park Board, City Council, Mayor and staff for allowing us to present information on the South Branch Middle Fork Zumbro River at two recent meetings.
As local advocates for comprehensive river and watershed restoration, we thank you for the opportunity to provide information and restoration/improvement options to local citizens and decision-makers. At the Park Board meeting on August 30, and the City Council meeting on October 26, there were many good comments, suggestions, and questions. The solid participation and robust discussions illustrate how much the community cares about our shared river resource.
We also appreciate that Terry Eckstein authored, and the DCI published, a good summary of the Park Board Meeting (see “The future of the Mantorville Dam,” September 8, 2022 DCI).
If any citizen wishes to receive information we presented at the recent meetings, please feel free to contact us. And, if you believe that there are further factors and/or information about the river that we could help organize and assess, please pass those items on to us.
