Rochester A’s Game: The A’s invaded Byron territory and picked-up a thrilling 5-3 victory last Thursday. Byron was outhit by Rochester, but entering the top of the 7th, the game was tied at 3. With the bases loaded, Byron pitcher Owen Kroc managed to get a strikeout for the first out. The A’s Sam Johnston came up to bat next and brought in two runs with an RBI single. Byron was able to get out of the inning with a double play on the next batter, but the damage had already been done. Byron recorded two hits in the bottom of the seventh and was in a position to tie the game and take the lead, but the A’s defense held firm.
DC Legion boys overwhelmed
Dodge Center Post 384 baseballers had a rough go of it, struggling at the plate, on Thursday, June 30. They ran into a buzz saw that was St. Charles and lost, 11-1. Cobras’ Tyler Ganley scored the sole run, and teammate Matt Roussoupoulous picked-up the RBI. Bronson Freerksen pitched five innings, striking out three, giving up seven hits and allowing eight runs. Matt Roussoupoulous threw 1/3 inning and surrendered three runs.
“We need to fire-up for our next battle, which is Pine Island at their place,” said Coach Coltt Ullom.
