Richard Leroy Bennett, 80, West Concord

Richard Leroy Bennett, age 80, died Sunday, February 6, 2022, at Mayo Clinic Hospital, Saint Marys Campus.
Richard was born on September 30, 1941 in Claremont. He attended country school in Concord and high school in West Concord. Richard was united in marriage to Lorna Chilson on December 22, 1962.
Richard enjoyed traveling, watching western movies, reading western books, riding motorcycle, and spending time with family.
Richard is survived by his children, Rich (Brooklyn) Bennett of Dodge Center, Deon Bennett of Dodge Center, Aliea Roe of Dodge Center; sister, Pat (Ed) Stoltenberg of Denver, Sharon (Bruce) Norton of Rochester, Janice (Keith) Applequist of Rochester, Diane (Greg) Zelinske of O’Fallon, Ill.; brother, Merlin (Cheryl) Moreland of Dodge Center; brother-in-law, Ed Buchanan of Spring Valley; eight grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.
Richard is preceded in death by his parents, Evelyn and Harold Moreland; wife, Lorna (Chilson) Bennett; son, Kris Bennett; older brother, Bob Bennett; sisters, Gerri Buchanan and Mary Blaisdell; and brother-in-law, Steven Blaisdell.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, March 11, 2022, at Concord Church of Christ, 200th Avenue and County Road 24, West Concord, with visitation one- hour prior to service. Pastor Peter Moen will officiate.
