Cynthia ‘Cindy’ Wiley, 62, Byron

Funeral services for Cynthia “Cindy” Wiley, 62, of Byron, will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, November 11, 2021, at Zion Lutheran Church in Stewartville with Rev. Allyson Bowman and Rev. Keith Bowman officiating. Burial will take place at Union Cemetery in Pleasant Grove.
She died on Thursday, November 4, 2021, surrounded by loving family, following an unexpected short illness, at Mayo Clinic Rochester — Saint Marys Campus.
Cynthia Louise Sackett was born on January 4, 1959 in Rochester to Curtis and Margaret (Weber) Sackett. She grew up in Stewartville where she attended and graduated from Stewartville High School in 1977.
She was employed at the Stewartville Municipal Liquor Store for a few years before being employed in Central Services at Saint Marys Hospital. Cindy was married on October 13, 1984 in Stewartville to Robert A. Wiley. Following their marriage the couple lived in Stewartville before moving to Byron in 1989, where they raised their family and have continued to make their home.
Cindy was a homemaker and after 20 years at Saint Marys, retired early due to health problems. Cindy was a past member of Zion Lutheran Church in Stewartville where she was baptized and confirmed.
She enjoyed camping with her family at Money Creek in Houston, was an excellent cook, an avid Twins fan, enjoyed playing cards and spending time with her dog Joey. She loved time spent with family, especially her grandchildren and new great grandson.
Cindy is survived by her husband Bob; two daughters and four sons — Ryan (Danielle) Sackett and Nathan Sackett both of Stewartville; Bobbie Wiley (Mike Staab) of Stewartville; Josh (Mandy) Wiley of Byron; Matt Wiley (Neeley Ryan) of Kasson and Megan Wiley (Cory Holtorf) of Hayfield; her mother — Margaret Sackett and sister — Lori Chinn both of Stewartville; 16 grandchildren — Austin Swenson; Gabe Supalla and Logan Wiley; Austin Fate (Brianna), Christian Sackett, Shelbie Sackett, Stacie Braun; Cole Schwenke, Autumn Staab; Dylan Wiley, Abbi Wiley; Brayson Wiley, Parkker Willey; Landon Wiley-Beckman, Ashton Beckman and Hailey Holtorf and one great grandson — Azer Swenson.
She was preceded in death by her sons — Christopher Wiley and Jeremey Wiley and her father — Curt Sackett.
A time of visitation for family and friends will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, November 10, 2021, at Griffin-Gray Funeral Home in Stewartville and one hour prior to the service at Zion Lutheran Church in Stewartville at 11 a.m. on Thursday morning.
