Deanna Lois Sorenson, 80, Mazeppa

Surrounded by her daughters, Deanna Lois Sorenson passed away on April 19, 2021 after a long battle with multiple health issues.
She was born in Rochester on March 4, 1941 to Elmer and Lois Sorenson. Deanna spent time living in California, Louisiana and West Virginia before moving back home to Minnesota. Though Deanna’s health had been failing for years, her joy for life and spirit kept her pushing through the pain and set-backs.
Throughout her 80 years of life, Deanna touched so many lives, as a young woman, wife, mother, sister, aunt, cousin, mom #2, colleague, employee and friend. She loved cards, bingo, dancing, music, and meeting people. She was such a fun lady and heaven is even better with her.
Deanna is survived by her brother Larry Sorenson (Cheryl); three daughters, Deborah Piens (Dennis), Diana Gabriel (Casey), and Dawn Hart; former spouse Byron Hill; three step-children, Bruce Hill (Nancy), Annette Bailey and Scott Hill (Martha), as well as eight grandchildren, three great grandchildren, two nieces, and numerous cousins.
Deanna was preceded in death by her parents and one grandchild Liam Arnold.
A Celebration of Life service was held April 23, 2021 in the community room at 556 1st Ave North, Mazeppa. A graveside service will be held at a later date at the Lake City Cemetery.
