Barbara Lee Pike, 83, Kasson
Barbara Lee Pike, 83, of Kasson, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Monday, Dec. 14, 2020 at the Seasons Hospice House in Rochester.
Barbara was born on Nov. 22, 1937 in Red Wing, to Stanley and Marion (Lee) Knutson. She married Robert Pike on Dec. 15, 1955. They were one day away from celebrating their 65th wedding anniversary.
She worked as a deputy clerk for the City of Kasson and as a guardian ad litem (GAL). She was on the Kasson City Council and she also served as the mayor of Kasson.
Barbara loved her community and enjoyed being a part of her many civic duties to help shape Kasson. She was a member of the Save the Water Tower Committee, Dodge County Trails Committee, Festival in the Park Committee, Helicopter Candy Drop and the Dodge County Fair Cancer Stroll. She also helped organize the Kasson-Mantorville Care and Share Auction and helped get new playground equipment in the Kasson park.
She was a devoted member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, where she served as treasurer and on the adult fellowship. She loved going on bus trips with her husband Bob and their friends. She was an avid reader. She will be deeply missed.
Barbara is survived by her husband, Bob; children, Terry (Twila) Pike of Columbus, Ohio, Angela (Robert) Parker of St. Louis Park and Tim Pike of Pine Island; grandchildren, Tarah Pike, Tyler Pike, Cindy McWright, and James Parker; three great-grandchildren, Davi McWright, Carmen McWright and Lilyah Parker. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Owen.
Visitation was Dec. 18, 2020 at Czaplewski Family Funeral Homes in Kasson. A memorial service followed at the funeral home with Pastor Nirmala Reinschmidt officiating.
Burial was in Lands Lutheran Cemetery in Zumbrota.
