Alvin Elmer Gross, 83, Kasson

Alvin Elmer Gross, 83, of Kasson, formerly of Dodge Center, died on Thursday, Oct. 22, 2020, at Prairie Meadows Senior Living in Kasson.
Alvin was born on June 19, 1937, the son of John and Alice (Harmon) Gross in Algona, Iowa. He graduated from Hayfield High School in 1955. He was united in marriage on Jan. 18, 1958 to Dorothy Klossner in Kasson.
Alvin worked his entire life as a farmer. He was also a mechanic for John Deere and Case IH. He loved music and dancing. He was a member of Praise Fellowship Church in Dodge Center.
He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
Alvin is survived by his wife, Dorothy Gross of Kasson; children, William Gross of Farmington, Bruce (Jan) Gross of Tarpon Springs, Fla., Cindy (Rodney) Severson of Jacksonville, Fla. and Cheryl (Nhut)Tran of Rochester; brother, Ronald Gross of Florida; sisters, Evelyn (Lowell) Trom of Blooming Prairie, Ermadell (Theodore) Knutson of West Concord and Joanne (James) Whitcomb of Hayfield; 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. 
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Linden Gross and two sisters, LaVonne Gross and Celia Marini. 
The funeral service was Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2020 at Czaplewski Family Funeral Homes, 801 7th St SE in Kasson, with Pastor Roger Langworthy officiating. Interment was in Fairview cemetery in Hayfield.
