Mavis Marie Weaver, 90, Kasson

Mavis Marie Weaver, 90, of Kasson, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2020 at Mayo Clinic Methodist Campus in Rochester.
Mavis was born on June 12, 1930 to Melvin and Opal (Espey) Lien in Vernon Township in Dodge County. She married Ernest Weaver on Nov. 2, 1947.
They lived on a farm north of Rochester for a few years. They lived most of their life in the Byron and Kasson area. 
She loved watching the Minnesota Vikings and Minnesota Twins. She had a passion for all animals but especially horses. She showed Morgan and mini horses at county fairs and the state fair. She was a member of the Dodge County Saddle Club for many years. 
She enjoyed visiting with family and friends and phone conversations. She also enjoyed going out for breakfast on Sunday mornings. A drive to Nelson, Wisc. for ice cream was also high on her list. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Kasson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ernest in 2000; daughter, Nancy Jensen in 2017; and sister, Cholrice Shawback. 
Mavis is survived by her children, Charlotte (Larry) Edgar of Kasson, Calvin Weaver of Kasson and Michael Weaver of Byron; five grandchildren, Tanya, Aaron, Brandon, Andrea and Justin; eight great-grandchildre; and several nieces and nephews.
There will be private family memorial service for Mavis at Czaplewski Family Funeral Homes in Kasson  at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 31, 2020 with Pastor Nirmala Reinschmidt officiating.   Burial will follow the service at Grandview Memorial Gardens in Rochester.  You are invited to join a live stream of the memorial service on the Czaplewski Facebook page; https://www.facebook.com/Czaplewski-Family-Funeral-Homes-Crematory-3364….
