Nelson achieves top national auxiliary honor

Pat Nelson of the Hayf ield American Leg ion Auxiliary unit recently received the prestig ious Ms. Goodwill Ambassa- dor award presented by the National American
Leg ion Auxiliary.
The Ms. Goodwill Am- bassador must be profes- sional, have a positive attitude, knowledge, in-
teg rity, leadership skills, loyalty, decision-mak-
ing, open-mindedness, mentoring, commitment/ dependability, com- munication skills, and integ ration of diverse
populations.
Nelson was nominated by Hayf ield unit pres- ident, Barb Oakland, through a written essay. The essay was submit- ted to the state level
and then selected to be sent on to the Northwest Division. At Northwest Division, it was submit-
ted to the National level
where it was selected to receive the award.
Nelson won an ex- pense-paid trip to the National Convention held in Indianapolis, Ind., and was presented her award on Aug. 2 8.
She has been an Amer- ican Leg ion Auxiliary member for 4 2 years,
of fering her time and expertise to various
of f ices, committees, and assisting the Leg ion- naire’s Color Guard.  Pat has been instrumental
in keeping our Auxiliary and community strong, proud, and thriving.
