SPORTS UPDATE: Steele County teams move onto state semis

Two Steele County football teams have moved onto state semifinals after wins Saturday afternoon.
The Blooming Prairie Blossoms rolled over United South Central 42-0 in Class 1A quarterfinals in New Ulm Saturday. Junior Gabe Hagen scored the game’s first points on an 80-yard catch from Kaden Thomas.
Despite trailing for just the second time this season, the Owatonna Huskies came back to defeat Chaska 42-27 in Class 5A action in Eagan.
The Awesome Blossoms will now take on the BOLD Warriors Saturday morning at US Bank Stadium in Minneapolis. Both teams are undefeated with 12-0 records.
The Huskies (11-0) will take on the Elk River Elks (10-1) on Friday or Saturday.
