A Glimpse of Dodge County

Happy first week of spring. If this week has proved anything, it is that March weather in Minnesota can be unpredictable.
Just when we thought winter might be over, we got hit Sunday afternoon and evening with another shot of snow. Fortunately, the weather is warming and the sun is getting high enough in the sky that this round of snow will not be on the ground long.
Schools in southeastern Minnesota were either closed or had two-hour delays Monday, but otherwise there seemed to be no real problems because of the weather.
It did dump a lot of snow on the area — 7 inches or more in many areas — and road crews are to be congratulated for getting the roads cleared early. They did their job, as there were no major accidents reported.
The weather is forecast to be nice this weekend, so there will be no excuse Saturday for not getting out and going over to Triton High School for the Dodge County Expo.
This is the 17th year for the Expo, which features booths and displays from businesses and organizations in Dodge County. The event is sponsored by the Chambers of Commerce in Dodge County.
It is a good opportunity to learn about what is available in the county and may prompt people to patronize local businesses whenever possible.
The Expo also features displays from government agencies, schools, churches and other service organizations in the county.
Starting at 8 a.m., a contintental breakfast is being served. Cost is $1. There will be a scavenger hunt for the kids with prizes being given out, as well as entertainment by a magician and Rookie the Clown.
Adults can register for a variety of prizes that will be given away by Chamber of Commerce members.
The Expo begins at 8 a.m. and continues to 2 p.m. Please use the Activities entrance at the high school.
It will be worth your time to stop in.
