Fixing damaged bridges

Arched in the air with a mechanical scissors ladder, a pair of MnDOT workers makes repairs to a bridge on Interstate 35 at County Road 31 south of Owatonna Saturday afternoon.  A truck hit the bridge as well as another bridge at CR 18 earlier on Saturday causing debris to be strewn on the roadway. Traffic has been restricted by the CR 31 bridge to a single lane while MnDOT evaluates the damage to determine what else needs to be done. No word yet on how much structural damage has been caused. The newly damaged bridges are not part of MnDOT’s road construction project that starts this week.
