Orlando A. (“Orlie”) Hanenberger, 78, Byron

Orlando A. “Orlie” Hanenberger ,78, of Byron passed away on March 2, 2017 at Fairview Care Center in Dodge Center.
Orlando was born on April 6, 1938 in Eyota, to Theodore Sr. and Eunice (Oliver) Hanenberger. He attended school in Eyota. He married Florence Anderson on Nov. 9, 1963 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Kasson. 
He worked at the Byron Elevator for over 30 years. After he retired from the Elevator he worked at Byron High School as a food service worker. 
He enjoyed wood-working, farming, fishing and making lawn ornaments, but above all else he loved spending time with his family.
Orlando is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Melvin, Richard, Lester and Theodore Jr. (Ruby) Hanenberger; brother in-law, Ed Gilberton and his nephew Donald.
He is survived by his wife Florence; his son, Allen (Betty) Hanenberger; daughter, Brenda (Curt Klingsporn) Hanenberger; grandchildren, Jessica (Brian) Siedel, Mathew (Michelle) Sampson, Adam (Amanda) Hanenberger, Jonathan (Michelle) Hanenberger, Kristina Ludwig, Cory (Amanda) Hanenberger and Megan Ryder; great-grandchildren, Rylee and Brooke Hanenberger; his sister, Laura Gilberton; brothers, Bob (Dianne) Hanenberger and Carl (Cindy) Hanenberger; sister in-laws Arletta, Cathy and Sue Hanenberger, and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service was held Wed., March 8, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Kasson. 
Pastor Nirmala Reinschmidt offiiciated. Burial took place in City of Kasson Maple Grove Cemetery.
