Carol J. Gosse, age 78, Wabasha

Carol J. Gosse, age 78, of Wabasha, Minn., died Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2017 at Mayo Clinic Hospital-St. Marys Campus in Rochester, Minn. She was born Jan. 10, 1939 in Winona, Minn., the daughter of Curtis and Agnes (Carlson) Goltz. She was a 1956 graduate of Wabasha High School. Carol married Richard Gosse Oct., 26, 1963 at St. Felix Catholic Church in Wabasha. 
She was a member of St. Felix Catholic Church and a member of its Council of Catholic Women. She was an active member on the local and district level of the American Legion Auxiliary, where she served both organizations as its president.  Carol loved music and playing the organ. She was also an avid Minnesota Vikings fan. Her main interest was her family.
Carol is survived by her husband, Richard Gosse of Wabasha; children and spouses, Suzanne and Dwight Hintermeister, Dalton, Minn., Elizabeth Sylvester (Loren Kispert), Wabasha, John and Jacquelyn Gosse, Dodge Center, Minn., Joanne Gosse, Sauk Rapids, Minn.; four grandchildren, Sydney and Carley Sylvester and Caroline and Jude Gosse; sister and brothers-in-law, Cleo and Gordon Spading, Ingleside, Ill., Tom (Elaine) Gosse, Wabasha. She was preceded in death by her parents, Curt and Agnes Goltz and her sister, Colleen Goltz.
A memorial Mass was held Jan. 27, 2017 at St. Felix Catholic Church in Wabasha with the Reverend Gregory Parrott officiating. Interment was at St. Felix Cemetery. Honorary bearers were her four grandchildren. Memorials are preferred to St. Elizabeth’s Community Development Foundation, 1200 5th Grant Blvd. W., Wabasha, MN  55981.
