Wyatt Matthew Coy, 18, Mantorville

Wyatt Matthew Coy, 18, of Mantorville, Minn., son of Matthew and Michelle Coy and brother of Morgan Coy, went to be with God on Jan. 19, 2017. He was born Nov. 18, 1998 in Rochester, Minn., was baptized by his grandfather at Zwingli United Church of Christ in Berne and later confirmed in 2013 at Christ Lutheran Church in Byron, Minn.Wyatt was everything a loving son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, and friend could be. 
Wyatt was quick with a hug and a laugh to make others feel better. He had a special gift for being around children, and always was willing to play even if that included being climbed on.  
He had been accepted to Bemidji State, and Early Childhood Education and pediatric physical therapy were his areas of interest. Wyatt always wanted to help people. He loved the outdoors, especially riding snowmobile with his family and “sweeping” off the trails for the next rider. He played in the woods, built bonfires, and played Airsoft and paintball with his friends where he was a master of stealth.   
He was a hard worker, whether helping his family with projects, working at Hy-Vee, or completing his soon-to-be-awarded Eagle Scout rank. Wyatt was a unique soul, which could be seen in the way he added “his special touches” (subwoofer, LED lights, and painting the dash red) to his vehicle, which, to some, was not  a car that deserved such attention. He was charming and mischievous, with a twinkle in his eye that always let you know that he was up to something, or at least thinking about it. He had a laugh that started deep in his belly, traveled through his whole body, and didn’t end until everyone else was laughing with him.  
Morgan and Wyatt were in most ways a typical brother and sister. Morgan was his morning wake-up call, and Wyatt was her protector. Even in his toughest times, she was his very first concern. Wyatt loved to play with and even snuggle with his baby sister. Wyatt was many things to many people, but he always included his family. He loved his parents, sister, grandparents and family beyond measure, making sure he gave them hugs, snuggles, his smile, and his love. His loving spirit extended to beyond this life by donating his organs to give life to others.  
Wyatt is survived by his parents, Matthew and Michelle Coy, sister, Morgan Coy, all from Mantorville; grandparents, George and Patricia Coy of Mantorville; Shirley Vinkemeier of Chanhassen, Minn.; Grandfather Robert Vinkemeier and Debra of Big Fork, Minn.; Great Grandmothers Ruth Hoof and Olvern Vinkemeier; Aunts and Uncles Tamara and Eric Strand, Michele Umsted, Kevin and Colleen Herzog, Marc and Bonnie Vinkemeier; and many cousins. 
Wyatt will be missed by many wonderful friends. The funeral service was held Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2017 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Kasson.
