Marcia Drazkowski, 95, Mantorville

Marcia Ruth Drazkowski died of natural causes peacefully in her sleep at her residence in Mantorville on Jan. 8, 2017.
Marcia Nelson Drazkowski was born Feb. 6, 1921, to Harry and Christine Nelson in Wyeville, Wisc. She was the youngest of seven children and spent her childhood in rural Wyeville. She graduated from high school in 1938 and attended Winona State University, where she obtained a bachelor’s degree in teaching K-12 with an emphasis in special education, and later received a master’s degree from the University of Minnesota Mankato. 
She married John Hourigan and resided in New York until their divorce. She married John Drazkowski in 1976 and they lived in Winona. They moved to Mantorville in 1986 and lived there until John’s death in 1988. Marcia then briefly moved to Winona but returned to Mantorville, where she resided until her death. 
She was an active member of the Friends of the Library, the Mantorville Restoration Association and the Mantorville Senior Citizens Center.
Marcia is survived by four nieces: Mrs. Karen Wickham of North Branch, Minn., Margo (Duane) Quiggle of Brooklyn Center, Minn.,  Nancy (Dan) Valder of Minneapolis, Judy (Tom) of Minneapolis, and one cousin, Christine Solmonson of Rochester; and two nephews, Joseph Stillwell of Beroun, Minn., and Jeff Stillwell of Minneapolis. She was preceded in death by four sisters: Marguerite G. Stillwell, Catherine Bogolub, Miriam (Mrs. Earl) Hoffman, Muriel Jenkins, two brothers, Norman and Allen, and one nephew, Tom Stillwell.
Services were held Jan. 12 at First Congregational Church in Mantorville with Pastor Brian Egelson officiating.
