DCFF announces 4-H schedule

There will be plenty of 4-H action once again at the Dodge County Free Fair which begins on July 13.

This year’s Dodge County Free Fair features a full slate of 4-H events from animal shows to auctions.
The events start the afternoon of Monday, July 13 with the pet show from 2-3 p.m. General project judging will take place 3-7 p.m. with check-in at the 4-H building. Llama-alpaca check-in and interviews will begin at 7 p.m. in the horse barn.
On Tuesday, events start with rabbit and poultry check-in and interviews with runs from 3-7 p.m. in the poultry barn. The llama-alpaca show begins at 5:30 p.m. in the show arena. All animals should be in place by 7 p.m. Tuesday evening with Horse check-in taking place in the horse barn at that time alongside sheep, dairy goat, meat goat check-ins and interviews also beginning at 7 p.m. at the show arena barn. Dairy check-in and interviews and beef check-in and interviews begin at 7:30 a.m. in the dairy barn and staging tent respectively.
Wednesday events begin bright and early at 8 a.m. with the poultry show in the show arena. The horse show, interviews and fun show take place at 9 p.m. in the horse arena alongside swine check-in and interviews at the show arena barn. The rabbit show begins at 11 a.m. in the show arena with the sheep show beginning at 2 p.m. also in the show arena.
Thursday events begin with the dairy show at 8 a.m. with the llama-alpaca costume contest taking place at 1:15 p.m. in the free stage. The beef show begins at 5 p.m. in the show arena.
On Friday, events kick off with the swine show in the show arena at 8 p.m. At 1 p.m. the dairy goat show will begin at the show arena with the meat goat show beginning there at 1:30 p.m.
The ribbon auction sign-up deadline is 5 p.m. Friday July 17.
On Saturday, the buyer’s breakfast begins at 7:30 a.m. at the 4-H building. The 4-H auction show begins at 9 a.m. in the show arena. Project talks begin at 1 p.m. at the ice arena stage, with the fashion revue show beginning at 3:15 p.m. at the free stage. Supreme showmanship begins at 5 p.m. in the show arena.
On Sunday, all livestock will be released at 4 p.m. with the general project released from 5-7 p.m.
