James Palmer Ranvek, 90, Kasson

James Palmer Ranvek, 90, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 5, 2016 at Field Crest Care Center in Hayfield, Minnesota.
James was born on May 20, 1926 at home in Dodge County to Henry and Clara Ranvek of rural Kasson. James was married to LaVain Murriel Edgar on Oct. 3, 1946. They are the parents of six children: Lowell (Melissa) Ranvek of Jacksboro, Tennessee; Linda (Ron) Johnson of Rochester, Michael (Vickie) Ranvek of Kasson, Jerry (Pam) Ranvek of Kasson, Randall (Barb) Ranvek of Lake City and Nancy (Jeff) Smith of Mantorville who all survive as well as 20 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, 16 great-great grandchildren and his wife LaVain. Jim was preceded in death by his parents and one granddaughter, Holly.
Jim worked for Lampland Well Drilling, Tietje Produce, Wentz Plumbing and retired from the Byron Elevator while farming and milking cows on his home farm. Jim and LaVain wintered in Arizona after retirement. He enjoyed watching Nascar and spending time with family and friends.
Services were held November 11, 2016 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Kasson with Pastor Nirmala Reinschmidt officiating. Burial followed at Maple Grove Cemetery, Kasson.
Memorials can be directed to St. John’s Lutheran Church in Kasson. 
Dibble Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Kasson was in charge of arrangements.
