K-M uses summer to adapt to new system

The Kasson-Mantorville boys basketball team is in a period of transition this summer as Terry Pederson takes over for Kelly Raymond as the head coach. While some of the things are a work in progress under Pederson, the KoMets have responded well and had a solid showing at a tournament in Winona last weekend with a pair of victories.
“The changes we have made to our defense and offensive philosophy have been accepted by all of our players,” Pederson said of the change. “They understand that if you put out your best effort each time you are on the court, good things happen for us and the game is a joy to play.”
One of the biggest things that Pederson is bringing to the table is a commitment to effort and attitude. The summer was also used to establish roles throughout the team while also improving some of the physical and mental skills
