Chief Schuck to retire
After eight years of service to the City of Kasson, Chief of Police Ken Schuck will retire from the Kasson Police Department.
Schuck presented his letter of resignation to the Kasson City Council at the July 13 meeting. He will continue to serve as police chief until Aug. 31.
While Schuck mentioned being emotional ever since making the decision to leave the department in his letter of resignation, he has confidence in the future of the department.
“One of my greatest responsibilities was to prepare our officers for this change when they will take on new roles in this department,” Schuck said. “I know I leave this position in good hands, and I know the department is ready to make this change and our officers are looking forward to the future.”
As his replacement, the council approved the promotion of Assistant Chief of Police Kent Berghuis.
