New principal takes helm at Triton Middle School
Summer often brings changes to schools and this summer is no exception as a new principal has taken the helm at Triton Middle School.
Principal Mark Raymond left the district at the end of June, returning to the Austin school system to assume his new duties as HR director.
His replacement at Triton Middle School is Luke Lutterman, a 2000 graduate of Triton High School, said Triton Superintendent Brett Joyce.
Lutterman returns to his alma mater from Sauk Rapids where he was the activities director at Sauk Rapids-Rice High School. Earlier he was the activities director at the Rushford-Peterson schools.
He has bachelor’s and master’s degrees from St. Cloud State University.
Like Raymond, Joyce said, Lutterman is strong in working with technology and will also have duties as the district’s data assessment coordinator.
The district had great candidates to choose from in selecting a new principal, Joyce said, and he is looking forward to working with the new principal.
Raymond is also settling into his new role in Austin. He came to Triton two years ago from the Austin district, Joyce said, and will be missed at Triton.
“Mark did a good job here and he will be missed,” Joyce said.
Joyce said that while at Triton Raymond had been working on earning his superintendent’s license and as part of the process he worked with both Joyce and the Austin superintendent.
He had aspirations to move his career forward and the Austin position presented that opportunity, Joyce said.
