June Elaine Woodward Vangness Baldridge, 91, Dodge Center

June Elaine Woodward Vangness Baldridge, 91, was born to Harry and Marie Woodward in rural Dodge County at the home of her maternal grandparents, John and Lavina Dawson, on Aug. 28, 1924.  She left this world to join her Savior on June 14, 2016, at Seasons Hospice in Rochester, Minn.
June attended country school in Dodge County District 11 and graduated from West Concord High School in 1942.  She married Jeffrey Vangness of West Concord, Minn., in September 1942, and Orval Baldridge in June 1963.  She is survived by one sister, Beth Johnson of Dodge Center, Minn.; one brother, Donald Woodward (Jeannine) of Yuma, Ariz.; her children, Connie Sackett of Apache Junction, Ariz., Betty Ramer (Daniel) of St. Cloud, Minn., Barbara Hanson (Philip) of Concord, Minn.; Jeffery Vangness (Julann) of Blaine, Minn., and Vicki Place (Dave Hysaw) of Phoenix, Ariz.; 11 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; 20 great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by husband, Jeff (August 1954); her parents, Harry and Marie; husband, Orval (February 1999); granddaughter, Carla Hanson Sass; son-in-law, Dale Sackett and sisters, Donna Erickson and Jean Johnston.
June lived most of her life in Dodge County, with the exception of a few years spent in Tomah, Wisc., and Byron, Minn.  They moved to Dodge Center permanently in 1947 where June lived nearly all her life.  She enjoyed her various jobs over the years, working as a server for the Dodge Café, as a grocery clerk for Gripp’s Food Market, as a clerk for Coast-to-Coast Hardware, as a cook for the Dodge Center Public Schools, as a clerk in Vogel’s Bakery and house cleaning for several local families.  She was very active over the years serving her community in many different ways.  She attended Faith Community Church in West Concord (formerly First Baptist Church) where she held numerous positions over the years, including teaching Sunday School for over 60 years.
June enjoyed helping others and spent her time serving friends and neighbors in whatever way they needed assistance.  Her enjoyment came from spending time with family, gardening, baking, traveling and completing puzzles of all kinds.  She truly loved the beautiful season changes enjoyed in Minnesota.  The last four and a half months of her life were spent at Circle Drive Manor Assisted Living in West Concord where she truly enjoyed the great care, comfortable setting and friendships.
June will be remembered with a Celebration of Life service at Faith Community Church in West Concord at 2:00 p.m. on July 10, 2016.  A visitation will be held at the church one hour prior to the service.
