Two K-W teachers in running for state Teacher of the Year

Two Kenyon-Wanamingo teachers are in the running for the 2016 Teacher of Year.
Anna Bauer, a Spanish teacher at the high school and Jan Strand, elementary music, have been nominated for the honor and have completed the required materials and are among the 114 Minnesota teachers chosen.
Over the coming weeks a 25-member panel of community leaders will name a group of semifinalists and finalists.
The 2016 Minnesota Teacher of the Year will be announced on Sunday, May 15, at the Radisson Blu Mall of America in Bloomington.
This year’s program will name the 52nd Minnesota Teacher of the Year, celebrating the tradition of excellence in teaching in Minnesota. Candidates include pre-kindergarten through 12th-grade and Adult Basic Education teachers, from public or private schools
