BP bows out of section

The Blooming Prairie wrestling team bowed out of the section team tournament, losing 45-21 to New Richland-Hartland-Ellendale-Geneva at Kenyon on Thursday, Feb. 11.  
Five local matmen won their bouts, but the overall strength and the forfeits to the Panthers proved too much for the locals.  The individual section tournament is this coming Saturday, Feb. 20.
Even though he bumped up a weight, Ethan Arett had no trouble pinning Brett Kubiatowicz in just 1:24 at 113 pounds.  Jon Hansen scored a reversal, a near fall, another reversal, and another near fall, all in the third period to pin Tim Wicks at 138.
Colton Krell used two takedowns and a third period escape to edge Palmer Peterson 6-4 at 160, and Dylan Nirk outlasted Karter Slettenon, 9-8 at 170.  Mitchell Oswald scored the other Blossom points with a pin over Alex Birkmeier in just 1:48 of the first period in the 195-weight class.
