Roger Allen Vrieze, 81, Mantorville

Roger Allen Vrieze, 81, of Mantorville, MN passed away on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at Mayo Clinic Methodist Campus in Rochester. He was born in Owatonna on March 3, 1944, to Wilton “Bud” and Doris (Erickson) Vrieze. He attended West Concord High school. Roger married Vivian Carol Baker on December 23, 1966, they had four children and made their home in Mantorville.
Roger was a cathodic protection engineer, superintendent of gas line crews all while working for Energy Economics and Donaldson’s Construction for almost 50 years. His work took him across the United States for many years.  He was a member of the Midwest Operating Engineers. He enjoyed going to the Owatonna Eagles where he was a member for 44 years. Dad enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time at Cedar Lake, Le Mieux’s Resort with his family and friends. He was known for his “acreage” for which he referred to as his garden. He loved sharing his flowers and vegetables.
Roger is survived by his four children, Sheri (Craig) Allen of Owatonna, Martha Vrieze of Mantorville, Marie (Kelly) Klodzinski of Lumberton, TX and Todd (Carrie) Vrieze of Mantorville; five grandchildren, R.T (Chelsea), Nate (Justine), Ellynn, Sean, Kaitlyn; brother, Lawrence (Peggy) Vrieze; sister-in-law, Sharon Ronning and niece, Molly.
The celebration of life for Roger Vrieze will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 30, 2025, at Czaplewski Family Funeral Homes, 801 7th St SE in Kasson. Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at Czaplewski in Kasson and one hour prior to his service on Wednesday. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Mantorville immediately following the funeral.
