Byron Student Council to host Winter Carnival
Looking for a local event this month for the family?
If so, you might be in luck.
On Feb. 15 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. the Byron High School Student Council will be hosting a Winter Carnival, at the high school.
“Our inspiration was to connect with the younger families of Byron,” Byron High School Student Council Vice President Cadence Loughran said. “ So, we wanted to give everyone an opportunity to get out of the house while showcasing the small businesses and groups in our community.”
The event will feature an inflatable obstacle course, food vendors, cookie decorating, a petting zoo, crafts, and many other games.
The event is being organized by the Student Council, however, the art team, girls basketball team, FFA, drama club, and SADD club will also be in attendance to help out with the event.
The cost is $5 per child, and those two and under are free. There will be food to purchase for adults.
All funds raised from the event will be donated to the Ronald McDonald House.
“Our goal for the event is to bring our community closer,” Loughran said. “We wanted families and their children to have an opportunity to spend quality time with one another, and to break up the long break between fall and spring activities. We are also striving to invest back into the community. This will be through the donation of our proceeds to the Ronald McDonald house.”
