Kasson PD made aware of threat of violence at K-M School last week

The Kasson Police Department was made aware of a threat of violence “to occur at the Kasson middle school,” at 2:14 p.m., last Thursday according to the Kasson Police Department.
“With the assistance of the Kasson-Mantorville School administration, we immediately began investigating the threat,” the press release read.
According to the press release the threat was sent to a K-M student from an unknown Snapchat account and similar to other Snapchat messages sent out state and nationwide threatening violence at schools last week.
“The Minnesota Fusion Center was notified and the investigation is ongoing,” the release read. “Although the threat appears to be a hoax, the safety of the students and staff is the top priority of the Kasson Police Department. Additional police officers will be patrolling the Kasson-Mantorville campus.”
