Triton wins by over six touchdowns versus Blue Earth

The Triton football team was dominant from the first whistle against Blue Earth Area High School last Friday, winning 60-14.
“I believed this was going to be a dog fight, I thought our boys came out and played at a high level,” Head Coach Brandon Neseth told the DCI following the game. “To start the game with a pic 6 like we did by Graden Thomas really set the tone.”
For the Cobra offense junior quarterback Pierce Petersohn finished the game 9/16 with 224 passing yards, and four touchdowns including one for 61 yards.
Brody Munnikhuysen led the team on the ground with 123 rushing yards on 11 attempts, scoring a touchdown. Two other running backs, Angel Felix, and Hunter Garness also finished the game with rushing touchdowns along with Petersohn who scored a touchdown with his legs.
Munnikhuysen also led the team in receiving yards with 65 yards on three receptions including a touchdown. Graden Thomas finished the game with two receiving touchdowns.
Neseth said he was also impressed with his team’s defense.
“Our defense did a nice job of not allowing the Bucs to have any easy competitions or big plays, we really made them work for each yard,” he said. “ Offensively, we put up over 530 yards of offense, any time you do that you know your players are playing at a high level. We know we need to continue to clean up some things (QB/C exchange, penalties, some protections), but overall I am pleased with how the boys have come out and taken care of business these first two weeks.”
