Dodge County begins search for next finance director

Dodge County is searching for its next finance director due to the impending resignation of longtime Finance Director Lisa Kramer.
“Lisa has given her notice she is leaving on September 30th,” County Administrator Jim Elmquist said.
He said at that point she may go to a part time status.
“She is doing that mostly to help us with the transition to a new finance director,” Elmquist said.
Kramer was hired in 2001.
Asked about the applicant pool, Elmquist said the number of applicants have improved in the last year “so we will see what happens,” he said.
“Statewide everybody is having issues related to hiring, but we will see what occurs and make a determination at that point if we have a good pool,” he said.
The description for the position states “Dodge County is accepting applications for a full-time Finance Director. This position is responsible for the day to day and long-term financial programs for Dodge County. Duties and responsibilities of this position include financial policy development and implementation, tax collection and settlements, investments, state audits, tax increment financing, payroll, elections and more.”
The minimum qualifications include a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Public Administration/Business Administration and/or equivalent amount of education and public sector accounting experience. Certified Public Accountant and Master’s Degree preferred. Five years of progressively responsible work in accounting management systems. Public Administration experience.
Candidates are also subject to a criminal background and credit check.
The pay range for the position is $91,250 — $117,832.
