Chatting about history in Claremont

Lively conversations took place at the Claremont Service Center June 6 as people with an interest in local history came together and exchanged memories.
The event was organized by the Dodge County Historical Society. The Society’s board of directors are reaching out to people in all parts of the county to collect stories and information about what happened in our past.
A few of the discussion topics were:
An outhouse prank;
The stockyards;
Visits from Gypsies;
The creamery in its heyday; and
Cafes in town.

Another get-together is planned for September. If you have memories or family stories of the Claremont area, please contact the Dodge County Historical Society to share your information.
Their email is dodgecountyhistoricalsociety@gmail.com, and the Museum phone number is (507) 635-5508.
