Alice Stewart, 88, Kasson
Mary Alice Stewart, a longtime resident of Owatonna, died Wednesday, June 5, at the Owatonna Hospital. She was born in twinship (Merlen) to Ervin and Luverne Lawrence on June 20, 1936 in Kasson, Minnesota.
After attending Winona State College, she moved to Minneapolis, where she met her future husband, Bob Stewart. They were married April 26, 1958 at the United Methodist Church in Kasson.
Mary Alice was a member of the United Methodist Church in Owatonna. She had many interests in life, but her true joy was her love of flowers.
She owned and operated the County Fair gift store at the Cedar Mall and was busy in the property rental business with husband Bob. After his death in 2012 she took over the management duties until retirement in 2019.
Survivors include daughter Kathryn (Kate) and Jay Krause, Fort Wayne, IN; son Thomas and Amy Stewart, Owatonna; grandchildren Emily (Alex) Pierce, Fort Wayne; Laurel (Thomas) Isaacson, Kelsey Schultz (Dylan Sarazine) and Anthony (Heather) Stewart; great-grandchildren Graham, Vivienne, Peyton, Andi, Westin and Alaina; brother Richard (Beverly) Lawrence, sister Janet (Larry) Johnson, sister-in-,aw Shirley Lawrence; nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband Robert (Bob), she was preceded in death by brothers Louis (Bud) and twin Merlen, sister-in-law Wanda; nephews Stephen and Kurt Johnson.
